In today’s modern welding production, almost nothing gets done without complete documentation and continuous internal quality assurance. To live up to these requirements, more and more companies are relying on the digital Welding 4.0 quality management system, ewm Xnet. With the ewm Xnet Universal logger set, Germany’s largest manufacturer of arc welding technology EWM AG is now offering users the opportunity to integrate welding machines from any manufacturer, not just EWM power sources, into the system. This will ensure transparency throughout the entire production line, allowing users to fulfill all quality and product liability requirements in welding production.
With the ewm Xnet Universal logger, EWM is now extending the benefits of its welding management system to companies that use welding machines from several different manufacturers in their production line. Even EWM welding machines without a digital interface and machines from any other manufacturer can now be integrated into ewm Xnet. In particular, this will give companies with few power sources that still value a future-proof quality management system for welding a great chance to integrate their existing machines into the Industry 4.0 environment.
Easy integration of various welding machines
In combination with the ewm Xnet plug-and-play set, Universal logger users can choose to use ewm Xnet functions even on individual machines. The set consists of a laptop with pre-installed ewm Xnet software, a USB dongle, an Xnet basic set with an ewm Xnet LAN gateway, as well as a cable and plastic trolley. The universal logger also makes using ewm Xnet for robotic welding and other automated systems even easier. Thanks to this EWM solution, welding machines integrated in the system can be easily connected to the welding management system – without any need for conversion.
Take full advantage of ewm Xnet
Almost all ewm Xnet functions can be used with the Universal logger. The welding quality management system supports documents and analyses a component’s entire production process, from work preparation to final costing. The software also supports component identification using a barcode and QR code scanner. In addition, it also provides valuable assistance in creating and assigning welding sequence plans and procedure specifications. Monitoring all welding parameters in real-time also allows users to continuously control costs and enables a precise calculation of the welding process’s consumption. With the Universal logger, users can also measure the current shielding gas consumption and document it via ewm Xnet. The wire feed speed of the connected welding machine can also be recorded. As well as sensor measurement, EWM also gives users the opportunity to determine the wire feed speed using a precise mathematical calculation from the measured welding current.
