New PERC Webpage Showcases Port-Side Propane Solutions

Resources explore propane equipment and how it stacks up against other energy sources

The Propane Education & Research Council launched a new webpage dedicated to showcasing propane’s capabilities in large and small port operations.

On the webpage, located at, visitors will find a variety of resources, infographics, and videos detailing propane’s key advantages. Notably, the Propane Council shares emissions comparisons of propane equipment versus equipment powered by electricity, gasoline, and diesel. The comparisons include hydrocarbons, greenhouse gas, nitrogen oxide (NOx), and sulfur oxide (SOx) emissions. Additionally, an infographic on propane’s versatility outlines its ability to power forklifts, light- and medium-duty vehicles, terminal tractors, marine vessels, and commercial generators.

“Ports are a vital component of the nation’s economy but are also known for polluting the air and surrounding communities, which is why they need a clean, low-emissions energy source to power their operation,” said Matt McDonald, director of off-road business development at PERC. “Fortunately, propane provides a clean, versatile energy solution for a wide variety of port-side applications, helping them to meet increasingly stringent emissions regulations from CARB and the EPA.”
