DHL Relocates Minneapolis Operations to Increase Efficiencies

DHL, the world’s leading international express services provider, has moved its service center facility in Minneapolis to a new, more central airport location to accommodate increased e-commerce demand.

The new facility, located at 1940 Cargo Road, remains on Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP) grounds but is now located on the convenient airport ramp, resulting in increased efficiencies and allowing for earlier deliveries and later pickup cutoff times for customers. DHL invested $1.6 million in the new location, which features 33,284 square feet of improved working space for facility operations. The facility will employ 100 personnel and operate 70 vehicles.

“DHL takes the initiative as the world’s leader in international shipping to make targeted investments in areas experiencing growth so that we can continually provide the highest level of customer service,” said Nemer Abohasen, VP and General Manager for the Midwest U.S., DHL Express. “Our new location at the Minneapolis St. Paul airport is an example of that effort as it is now better equipped to serve our customers and provide them with even greater convenience for their international shipping needs.”

The Minneapolis / St. Paul market has seen steady job growth and is also home to many well-respected companies from various industries, including medical, financial, retail, agriculture, packaged goods, energy, technology, and precision manufacturing. DHL has also seen impressive growth locally in the e-commerce and life sciences sectors.
