Cement manufacturers are turning toward the use of alternative fuels and raw materials to reduce both the cost and the environmental impact of their operations. Many companies are also seeking ways to effectively integrate AFR systems into existing operations.
BEUMER Group has developed specialized technology geared toward the use of alternative fuels for cement manufacturing clients, and Jan Tůma, Chief Sales Officer at BEUMER Group Czech Republic, will outline solutions in his presentation entitled, “Alternative Fuel & Raw Material Transportation—A Real World Example.” Tůma’s presentation, which will be delivered at the Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials Americas 2020 conference, will feature a firsthand examination of the successful implementation of AFR systems at two European cement plants.
“Following a wholistic, proven process is key to the successful implementation of an alternative fuel system into existing plants,” said Tůma. “Since alternative and waste fuels can be used in high-temperature rotary kiln systems without negatively impacting cement quality, the end result is significant cost savings for manufacturers,” he continued.

With more than 20 years of cement industry experience, Tůma’s responsibilities include the oversight of all alternative fuels projects worldwide.
