The SpeedCell® storage system is a new high density warehouse storage system that saves time, saves space, and saves money. International fashion retailer River Island has increased storage capacity in its distribution center by over 600% by simply installing the SpeedCell® storage system. The system is a new innovative and intuitive way of organizing any warehouse.

River Island installed one aisle of the SpeedCell® storage system in its 466,000 sq. ft. national distribution center to comfortably accommodate what previously needed 12 picking aisles. An extra 5,000 picking locations were created with the implementation of the SpeedCell® storage system. The system is made of an array of mobile vertical shelving columns made from anti-static, flame retardant technical textiles which slides sideways to reveal even more such columns behind them. Installing the SpeedCell® storage system transforms traditional storage bays into high-density storage modules, eliminating under-utilized space while allowing quick and easy access to every item inside. The system can be reconfigured to fit almost any size product and in a multitude of arrangements. As Arif Ahmed, River Island’s logistics director concludes: “The SpeedCell® installation is one part of our storage solution that has transformed the way our distribution center operates and further enhances picking efficiency to ensure we deliver to our customers on time, every time.”

The installation proves that the SpeedCell® storage system improves efficiency in a distribution center by increasing storage density and eliminating dead space. The SpeedCell® storage system will be at the ProMat international expo in Chicago booth #4147.
