New U-Joint Literature Offered by Ameridrives Power Transmission

Two new catalogs from Ameridrives Power Transmission (APT) offer engineering data, application service factors and selection information and procedures for APT’s Series 2000, 3000 and 5000 Americardan® Universal Joints.

The 28-page catalog for the 2000 and 3000 Series, and the 8-page catalog for the 5000 series, are available at no charge by visiting Catalogs provide information on U-joint design, construction and assembly, speed limits, companion flange dimensions, design variations and custom applications, kinematics and motion characteristics, bore tolerances and weights, and more.

The 2000 and 3000 Series universal joints are ideal for industrial applications requiring high-torque capacity and flexibility to operate at high misalignment angles. Long bearing life and bearing and seal designs that resist lubrication loss and contamination make the U-joints suitable for dozens of applications in metal producing and forming, mining, oil and gas, paper and printing industries, and for use on equipment including pumps, mixers, shredders, conveyors and generators.

The 5000 Series universal joints are heavy-duty, high-torque units that offer greater dynamic ratings than other universal joints of equivalent size. The dynamic rating is a measure of the universal joint’s life and it indicates the ability of the unit to transmit a given power through a specific operating angle at a certain speed for a specified number of hours. These U-joints offer application service factors ranging from constant torque needed in generators, centrifugal pumps or conveyors to very heavy shock applications such as ore crushers, scale breakers or feed roll drives used in the metals industry.

To discuss specific application requirements, please call APT at 920/593-2444. Ameridrives Power Transmission is a proud member of the Altra Industrial Motion family of companies.
