Transite Signs Deal With Matheson Trucking for Core Transportation Management Technology

Thursday, April 16, 2009

LEIGH, NC — Transite Technology, a leading provider of transportation management solutions, software and services, has been chosen by Matheson Trucking Inc. to supply the core technology in the company’s rate and price management system.

“Matheson went through a very thoughtful and rigorous decision process,” said Geoff Comrie, CEO of Transite. “We are very pleased to have been selected by Matheson as they fully recognize the advanced capabilities our products can bring to their company.”

Transite’s Contract Manager integrates with a carrier’s existing billing and pricing applications to provide real-time customer pricing information and administration. Further, as a core function, Contract Manager provides very easy management of all pricing contracts. Contract Manager’s user interface is highly optimized to administer tens of thousands of customer pricing agreements, and its architecture allows it to scale to hundreds of thousands of agreements and rating requests.

In addition to carriers, across broader transportation management systems used by shippers, brokers and 3PLs, the rating capabilities in Contract Manager are designed to encompass 100% of any rating need.

This includes:

  • All Parcel and LPL pricing (density, dimensions, weight, CWT, MWT,) including all UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS pricing
  • All LTL pricing (skid, pup, mileage, geography, etc.)
  • All TL pricing (mileage, trip, geography)
  • Fuel surcharges can be configured for automatic updating by customer parameters or by global parameters.
  • All accessorials are completely customizable by any type of charge (weight, trip, mile, %, unit, etc.)
  • Easily used via My Freight Portal, a customer’s website, application, or audit system

“Particularly with the economy, the carrier market is increasingly competitive market,” said Laurie Johnson, COO of Matheson Trucking. “We believe Transite’s contract management technology will not only strengthen our internal business processes, but will enable us to grow our customer base more efficiently while providing new capabilities that customers will soon demand.”
