Gries Deco Company, a leading German retailer, has awarded Swisslog a major order totaling approximately $125mio as general contractor to design and implement its new distribution center. Swisslog will provide a turnkey, expandable facility that includes a
130’ tall high-bay warehouse with 12 Vectura Stacker cranes and 110,000 pallet locations. Order fulfillment in the facility will be provided via Swisslog’s CaddyPick monorail solution (with 120 caddies), conveyor systems, software and control systems.
Swisslog will also be responsible for the overall integration of systems.
“This order is testimony to Swisslog’s capability of delivering ideal solutions for its customers' current and future needs,” explains Daniel Fink, President of Swisslog’s Warehouse & Distribution Solutions division. Construction is expected to start in September 2011 and planned to be operational by spring 2013.
