SDI Group USA Announces CEO Transition

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

SDI Group USA, a leading provider of materials handling systems and solutions to the retail, wholesale, fulfillment and e-commerce industries, has announced Mary Adams will transition her role as CEO of SDI Group Americas to Krish Nathan, current president of SDI Group USA. Adams will remain actively involved in the business and continue on as a senior partner focused on managing and developing key accounts.

Adams joined SDI in 1982 and participated in the company’s growth from just a handful of employees to a professional workforce of more than 300 that now serves hundreds of clients throughout the Americas, including Canada, the United States, Mexico and South America. Adams also oversaw the company’s transition back to private ownership in 2008, along with several other partners, including Nathan.
“Much has been accomplished since we privatized the Americas business units after the economic downturn in 2008,” said Adams. “We’ve come a long way since, improving our organization’s infrastructure, policies and deliverables. The atmosphere is vibrant and we are very well-positioned in the marketplace. As a major shareholder, I feel it is the proper time for me to focus my experience and energies in support of growing the business.”
Adams continued, “We are fortunate to have Krish, with his 22 years of industry experience and exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. Krish and I share a commitment to customer-focused solutions. I fully expect that Krish will take us to the next level as we continue to improve upon and broaden our offerings in the global marketplace, providing innovative systems and software solutions to the rapidly evolving distribution and fulfillment space.”
Nathan started his career in the U.K. as a drafting engineer for a custom design and build engineering company. He then worked with various materials handling systems companies, including Logan Fenamec and Dexion (a division of FKI). Throughout his career he has always been involved in creative design and focused on delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations. He started his career at SDI 14 years ago. His largest project was the successful oversight of the installation of 13 distribution centers (i.e., customer support centers) delivered to JCPenney over a two-year period.

Nathan stated, “The new position is an honor; our customers and solutions have become global. Increasingly, we compete for business on a global playing field. I believe my international experience and variety of automated solutions expertise will allow SDI to deliver ‘best in class’ solutions to both existing and new customers. My desire is that as we grow, we will continue to offer personalized, ‘boutique’ service levels to the companies that entrust us with their business.”
