Safe Commerce Coalition To Participate In Aircargo 2009 Expert PanelWednesday, March 4, 2009
On Monday, March 9, leading aviation and security experts will come together in Las Vegas to offer their unique and front line perspectives on the pending 100% screening mandate as part of a panel discussion on “New Cargo Screening Mandates: The Next 50%.” Asa Hutchinson, Chairman of the Safe Commerce Coalition and former DHS Undersecretary of Border and Transportation Security, will join a panel of industry experts to discuss the mandates.
With the very real risk of significant delays and astronomical cost increases, this “piece by piece” screening regulation will undoubtedly impact shippers and screeners alike when it is fully implemented in August 2010.
Panelists will debate the impact that 100% screening will have on corporations, consumers, and the supply chain as a whole. Panelists will also address the drastic new operational, security, and financial steps that will be necessary to meet the looming deadline for screening 100% of all air cargo.
All panel materials will be available at the start of the presentation, and a media availability will be held immediately following the panel’s conclusion.
