Baust Materialflusssysteme has developed a new type of pallet exchanger as a low-price starter version. The simplest model comes with options to extend its capabilities.

(Langenfeld) Baust Materialflusssysteme is now offering customers a new type of pallet exchanger, a starter model in a consequently simplified version – the PW 500. The new device is mainly suitable for handling products such as drinks crates or food boxes that can be clamped from two sides only and are able to withstand less sensitive treatment.

As the manufacturer emphasises with regard to the new version in his product range of pallet exchangers, using the clamping method, the PW 500 is able to reload a variety of goods and receptacles that do not appear suitable at first glance. These include, for example, bottle cartons and Tetra Paks. In its simplest form, the PW 500 pallet exchanger was developed for use with manual or electrically driven pallet trucks. According to Baust Materialflusssysteme, at the same time it is thus possible to reload goods to aluminium or plastic pallets, not only for hygienic reasons. It is also possible to reload from one size of transport pallet to another. This is, for example, appropriate when goods need to be reloaded from a complete pallet to a half or quarter pallet.

The basic version of the PW 500 is pneumatically driven. However, the manufacturer also offers the pallet exchanger as a hydraulic version. Baust maintains it is possible to integrate an extended version of this type of pallet exchanger featuring an automatic lifting function and conveyor technology in the automatic material flow if required.

Attractive offer with mature technology
Addressing the target group of the new PW 500 pallet exchanger, Managing Director Franz Baust states: “With a price considerably lower than our previous entry prices, we wish to make an attractive offer for companies whose products exactly match these requirements.” According to Franz Baust, these customers in particular can benefit from the mature quality technology of other versions of the pallet exchanger. As Baust states, with this offer, pallet exchanging generally remains a viable alternative when low quality or damaged pallets need to be replaced. Pallet exchangers are a good solution when exchanging wooden pallets for aluminium or plastic pallets, according to the producer, who also has numerous larger dimensioned and more complex pallet exchangers operating together with forklifts or integrated in automatic conveyor systems.
