Northern California OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District welcomes new Manager
Thursday, January 7, 2010DUBLIN, CA — The OSHA Training Center (OTC) at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District announced today the appointment of its new OSHA Training Center manager, John Messing. In this position, Messing will oversee the OSHA Training Center’s role in providing occupational safety and health training courses for Northern California by promoting the Center’s programs, enriching OSHA curriculum, and guiding businesses through the development of effective, comprehensive safety programs and fulfillment of safety requirements.
Messing has over 15 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety, project management and customer marketing. He holds a Professional Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health through the University of California, San Diego, as well as extensive safety training and instruction credentials. Additionally, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Washington State University.
“I am excited to be a part of the OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. My familiarity and previous experience with the OSHA Training Center programs, heavy civil construction safety, project management, and customer marketing experience will be fully utilized to maintain the level of quality that the OSHA Training Center provides,” said Messing.
Prior to his new position, Messing worked as the Corporate Safety Manager for Nehemiah Construction, Inc. and as Regional Safety Manager at American Civil Constructors. He has successfully implemented comprehensive safety programs which consistently reduce the number of worker injuries, property damage losses and general liability claims. He has a track record of conducting comprehensive loss control surveys reducing potential hazards and risks, establishing and delivering a wide-variety of educational training programs, and implementing effective claims management programs.
