NMHG Presents United Way of Pitt County with a $32,000 Check

NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG) presented United Way of Pitt County with a $32,000 check during East Carolina University’s (ECU) final regular-season home football game. As a sponsor of ECU athletics, NMHG’s check was allocated to United Way of Pitt County based on this season’s total number of ECU touchdowns.

"NMHG is proud that our employees raised $32,000 through charitable donations for United Way of Pitt County,” said Tommy Baker, Americas Division Controller, NMHG. “During this holiday season, when many people’s finances are stretched thin, NMHG employees still managed to put others first. I am honored to be a part of such a selfless workplace.”

Renee Blount, resource development director of United Way of Pitt County, was on the field to receive the check along with Baker, Jonathan Dawley, president of Hyster Distribution, and Jim Cieslar, executive director of United Way of Pitt County.

"United Way of Pitt County is very thankful to NMHG and its employees for the continued support of our cause,” said Blount. “Their donations enable local families to have hope during the upcoming holiday season. As an active participant in giving back to those in need, we feel truly blessed to have NMHG in our community.”

To date, NMHG has donated just shy of $256,000 to United Way of Pitt County based on total ECU touchdowns, three-pointers and homeruns for its football, basketball and baseball programs respectively for the 2011-12 academic year.
