Motor Group Accelerate Business

Thursday, May 3, 2012

LEADING MOTOR Group, Richmond, UK shapes up their premises and continues to rely on principal contractors Hampshire Mezzanine Floors to design their new parts department.

Richmond Cars, who are main car dealers for Hyundai, Citroën and Renault, have built a new flagship site in Farlington to now include Citroën as well as the successful Hyundai franchise at this location. HMF were asked to design their new parts department for this new building having worked for Richmond Cars on others projects over the last 15 years.

The dealership required HMF to re-site their existing parts department into temporary accommodation until the new building was completed, and then fit out the new site ready for occupation.

HMF specified automotive shelving to match their existing shelving. In addition to this, new wall hanging storage equipment, including trim trays and various forms of automotive part accessories were specified to house a variety of differing sized and awkwardly shaped parts.

HMF, the main Dexion distributor for Hampshire and Dorset, fitted heavy-duty Dexion Longspan racking using chipboard decking for sitting large parts on, and further heavy-duty racks for brake discs and boxed items.

Hampshire Mezzanine Floors also designed and fitted out Richmond’s archive store for storage of banker’s boxes for their accounts department as well as the site’s stationary storage area. The archive store was completed with boltfree shelving and a low height section to act as a worktop for ease of retrieval when accessing the boxes.

The job was designed to assist Richmond in maximising efficiency of picking, to ensure that parts are easily and quickly accessible to save on labour time. HMF ensured that the storage equipment was purpose designed with safety accessories and identification labelling to make sure that all parts are stored safely and the density of storage maximised.

The job was completed on programme.
