MILLENNIUM INDUSTRIAL TIRE LAUNCHES NEW GREEN WHEEL RECYCLING PROGRAMTuesday, September 30, 2008
LOS ANGELES, CA - Millennium Industrial Tire announces the launch their new wheel recycling program. GREENWHEELS is a bold partnership with original equipment manufacturers and dealers across the country to collect and remold used load wheels.
Last year more than 2 million wheels were unnecessarily sent to landfills across the United States. In most cases these load wheels could have been stripped and remolded with new polyurethane. Recycling not only reduces the burden on landfills, more significantly, it cuts atmospheric pollutants from steel mills and foundries who produce replacement cores. Every recycled wheel means decreased carbon emissions. It means one less wheel in landfills and it prevents bearing grease from seeping into groundwater supplies.
“GREENWHEELS marks a paradigm shift in the way we think about load wheels,” says Vice President Beau Brown. “It will help our customers save money while becoming ISO 14001 compliant.”
GREENWHEELS are 100% guaranteed to be as good as new wheels and are stocked in all of Millennium’s conveniently located national warehouses. Recycled wheels are available in any of Millennium’s problem solving polyurethane compounds and most popular parts ship the same day they are ordered.
With the launch of GREENWHEELS, Millennium Industrial Tire is poised to lead the industry into greener pastures. Warehouses and distribution centers across the country now have a convenient, eco-friendly alternative for their polyurethane load wheel requirements that will save them money while helping to make our planet a little greener.View all Industry News
