The phrase “the worst recession since The Great Depression” has been thrown around a lot lately in the news. And many people are talking “doom and gloom”

Jamco doesn’t exactly see it that way.

“We choose not to participate in the recession,” said Jamco’s Tim Jamal.

With a significant downturn in the economy, forklift dealers globally are taking a closer look at the product value and big advantages Jamco’s product line offers.

Jamco is a family-owned and controlled corporation which was established in 1986. Currently, Jamco’s Canadian operation is based in Cambridge, Ontario, approximately 50 miles west of Toronto. Jamco opened it’s first U.S. location, in Carlisle, Pa., in 2004 to support our continuously expanding U.S. customer base.

“Over the years, Jamco has expanded its product range and we have become world renowned for our complete line of Eagletronic battery chargers for all applications, Eagle55 pallet trucks, wholesale used forklifts and forklift attachments,” Jamal wrote in an e-mail to Material Handling Network. “We are constantly adding new products and expanding our global market presence to meet our customer’s growing demands.”

With all the talk about Going Green and Global Warming Jamco has positioned itself as a front runner providing energy efficient Eagletronic chargers with a 7-year warranty at competitive prices.

Jamal said Jamco’s full range of Eagletronic Opportunity Chargers are the most energy efficient in it’s class at a more competitive price, Jamco’s MTL2 line of conventional chargers are about $1,000 cheaper than competitor’s models with similar or less features. The EagleSmart charger product line is priced less then the MTL2 line and is ideal for price sensitive situations and is a good match for used forklifts, older batteries and is a better option than purchasing used chargers.

Forklift dealers quoting electric units with our Eagletronic charger line continue to win deals, increase profits and pick up market share and keep Jamco growing, says Jamal.

Although there are a number of forklift dealerships that are sitting on the benches and doing nothing about it, a lot of forward thinkers are taking advantage of the opportunities that Jamco has to offer, and partnering with Jamco to be in position for the times. Which is consistent with MHEDA’s theme for 2009.

Over the past 12 years Jamco has sold its own branded pallet jack designed with company colors, named The Eagle55, which comes in 10 different sizes with a 7-year warranty.

Jamal said the Eagle55 has faced many attempts of competitor imitation, but none has been able to stand up to the Eagle55’s durability.“Continous attempts by competitors to duplicate our Eagle55 Pallet Jacks, in my opinion, tells me we are doing something right,” Jamal said. “As the saying goes ‘Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.’”

“The after sales support and service we have brings additional value and peace of mind in the customer’s mind,” he added.

There are other examples of how forklift dealers are using the Eagle55 to bring value to their dealerships.

Eagle55’s, with a 7-year warranty on the pump and 3-years on the rest of the unit, at a price of $179 each is helping their customers gain market share.

How you ask? Jamal gives an example, “Forklift dealers across the country are partnering with Jamco in developing advertising campaigns targeted at their local competitors end customers. Allow us to service your forklifts, or sign up for a rental forklifts from us and recieve an Eagle55 pallet jack with a 7-year warranty.”

In addition, Jamco also wholesales used forklifts to dealers throughout North and South America.

“We take pride in the used forklifts we supply to forklift dealers all over the world and firmly stand behind the quality of equipment,” Jamal wrote in an e-mail to Material Handling Network. All of the used forklifts that Jamco sells is owned by the company and stored in a clean, heated warehouse.

With the credit crisis in the current times, Jamco is assisting our customers by offering credit terms on used forklifts if required.

Jamco can be contacted by phone at 866/848-5400, e-mail at, or visit their website, or

“Forklift and material handling dealers across the world have come to know Jamco for reliability, service, honesty and integrity pricing,” Jamal wrote.

And for those reasons, Jamco will remain a force in the industry for some time to come.
