It Is Never Too Late!

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

If this reminder doesn’t put some wind in your sales, I am afraid I have failed to connect with you. Good luck, and have a nice life.

I heard this one on the radio. It involves a man who is over 100 years old. In New Jersey lingo, this guy is known as a fossil. In fact, he probably wrote the book on “fossils.”

He is currently preparing to break his third world record ... at age 105. He is a swimmer, and he is still competing.

The good news is that in his age group, the competition is fast becoming less of a daily concern.

But age is not today’s message. This guy is one old geezer by anybody’s definition.

The fact that he “learned” how to swim, and “started” to swim at age 80 is the news you and I can both use. EIGHTY!

Ladies and gentlemen hear this loud and clear. I don’t care how old you are. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START. Today is as good a time as any.

Which brings me to a second reminder worth sharing. I heard this one this morning while speaking to my good friend and mentor, LF.

“Your biggest obstacle with any project is starting.” Simply get your %^$ in gear and you will be on your way.

Get going. Get started. Dig a hole. Jump in the water. Pick up the phone. Do something.

And while you are doing it, don’t forget to enjoy the process.

Before you know it, you too will be 80.
