Hannibal South continues steady growth into the New Year after Hurricane Harvey

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Hannibal South is hitting benchmarks and seeing growth in spite of the category five hurricane that hit Houston late last year, underscoring the company’s expansion and commitment to the area. Since opening its Houston facility in 2016, Hannibal South has grown to manufacturing and shipping more steel products per month, putting production above what it initially projected. In addition, the company is planning to hire additional employees to meet the demand of its customers.

“Houston is an incredible city that has provided Hannibal Industries with new domestic and international growth opportunities,” said Ryan Peck, general manager of Hannibal South. “We have built many new business relationships since opening our doors and following Hurricane Harvey, we have seen our community pull together and keep moving forward. We are very proud to be a part of Houston’s commitment to build and strengthen from within.”

After the initial impact of the storm, Hannibal South management took an assessment of the facilities as well as individuals that work for the company. In its review, the company’s management quickly found that Hannibal South employees were accounted for and both safe and comfortable. Once the company and its employees were secure, Hannibal South focused on getting the facility back up and running.

Hannibal Industries’ Los Angeles headquarters serves customers in all regions west of the Mississippi River and via the port of Los Angeles, has reached as far as Asia and the Middle East. The expansion of Hannibal South has allowed it to extend that reach into the south and east coast of the U.S.

Due in great part to the additional capacity of the Houston facility, Hannibal Industries grew 20% in 2017 and is expected to grow another 20-25% in the new year. The company produces steel tubing and provides storage solutions for industries including: food and beverage, home improvement, warehouse distribution, retail, archive storage, automotive and 3PL providers globally.
