Get the RLD Advantage

There are many good shipping and logistical companies to choose from, but few combine the reputation for quality and reliability - plus a network of over 12,000 trucking companies to guarantee delivery – like RLD Transportation.

Started in 1990 in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, RLD began with one truck and one driver. Today, they have a multitude of trucking companies in their network, some with up to 100 trucks in their respective fleets. This, according to company president Richard DeMoranville, allows RLD to meet the needs of almost any customer.

“With the exception of refrigerated shipments, we can meet the needs of all of our customers, big or small, because we have access to all the types of equipment that might be required to handle the different needs of each particular customer,” DeMoranville said. “We have access to van trailers for electric or new forklifts, to protect them from the weather – Flatbeds for easy loading – and Stepdeck, RGN and Landoll type trailers for forklifts with oversize masts or that require ground pickup or delivery.”

Another RLD advantage is the lack of wait time. DeMoranville says one of the advantages of their large network is the lack of wait time to pick up and deliver items. “We locate a truck that is already in the area where the customer requires service. In the case of partial, or LTL (less than truckload), shipments, there is the added advantage of our ability to consolidate, so that the customer only pays for the amount of space and weight they take up in the truck, which is much more cost efficient.”

Even though the company’s network is extensive and spread out, they lose nothing in terms of customer service. DeMoranville says they stand behind their service

“Without question, we are proudest of our reputation. We are honest and sincere. We know that we are not always the cheapest option out there, but we offer exceptional and reliable service at reasonable rates and when it comes to knowledge, we know and understand the forklift industry!

We put a great deal of effort into keeping abreast of the current climate in transportation as well as the continual evolution of the material handling industry and we are constantly striving to be the best at what we do,” DeMoranville added.

Other ways RLD stays on top of the industry is by listening to customers and carriers needs.

“Lease equipment is a huge part of our business. About half of all new forklift acquisitions in today’s market are made through lease or rental arrangements and we handle all transportation aspects in the industry. We ship directly to end users and handle branch transfers, end of lease returns and all repossessions, whether for nonpayment or abandonment,” DeMoranville said.
