Forklift Pro: Quality Parts, Service and People

The sales and service team at Forlift Pro, Inc., Charlotte, NC, work hard to live up to their name. “Wholesaler of Quality Lift Trucks!” is the company tagline, and President Buck Caldwell means what he says.

“We do the same things that dealers do to make forklifts retail ready. You can’t tell the difference,” Caldwell said. “Many wholesalers bring machines in and send them back out in the same condition, but we make sure the trucks leave our lot in better shape than they came in.”

All units from Forklift Pro, Inc. are cleaned and inspected, and many are refurbished with the necessary parts, such as new seats and forks.

The company has a 20,000 square foot facility that is stocked with hundreds of forklifts, attachments and accessories. They are an international wholesaler of forklifts, and specialize in all sizes of lift trucks and material handling equipment – from older lifts to late models in all sizes, capacities, and conditions – with many being shipped in a retail ready condition - ready to deliver to the end user.

“We get all kinds of unique and different types of equipment,” said Janet Caldwell, company vice-president and Buck’s wife. “We never know what we’re going to buy, it’s always something different.”

Caldwell has over 19 years of wholesale experience but over 30 years in the industry. Tim Smith, who also has 30 years of forklift experience, is another “Forklift Pro” who is well known in the industry. Tim’s background is with Hyster, Clark, and Yale dealerships, while Buck has Cat, Crown, and Yale dealer experience. Together, they are able to field any type inquiry.

The company has a particular expertise in dealing with exports. “We know how to blaze the trail through customs,” laughs Janet. “Exports are one of our specialties.”

Even though the company boasts a large inventory, retail ready units, and exporting expertise, the Caldwell’s say that’s not what sets the company apart from others in the industry.

“The employees are the backbone of any company, and we have the best,” Janet said. “Buck is recognized as the one of the best by his peers, he’s been in the industry so long, and we’ve put together a really great team.”

That team is what gives Forklift Pro, Inc., the quality edge, because the “Forklift Pros” strive to exceed our customers’ expectations.

“We do whatever it takes to make the customer happy,” Buck said.

Did you ever notice that Forklift Pro’s pictures usually have a smiling face and a wave to go with it? That’s a Buck-ism. If the hand’s not waving, he’s not happy. Buck says that happy, friendly employees sell more lift trucks.
