Craft Equipment Company, a Southern states regional material handling equipment, waste reduction and construction specialty equipment distributor, announced August 1st their purchase of American Waste Control of Florida (AWC). Headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale. The acquisition of AWC will further strengthen Craft’s operations in the four southernmost counties of Florida, including Miami.
Established in 1971, Craft Equipment has grown into a leader in the material handling, waste reduction and construction specialty industries throughout the Southeastern United States. Operating in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, Craft’s vast product line and expertise customize solutions to a wide range of applications.
American Waste Control, directed by President John Sobota, began operations in Florida in 1997 after relocating from New York. The company is known in South Florida for the sales, service and installation of all waste reduction equipment, including balers and compactors.
“Our association with Craft will take AWC to the next level,” said Sobota, who has become Vice President of Waste Reduction company-wide for Craft Equipment Company. “Providing us with additional buying power, new economies of scale, and will allow us to offer customers a wider variety of services.”
Sobota also said that AWC customers will now have access to Craft’s 24/7 service operations, increasing customer’s efficiency and productivity.
