Become an authority figureWednesday, July 8, 2015
To compete in today's watered-down travel marketplace you need to become an "Authority Figure." This is more true today than ever before. (Yes, I said "need.")
People listen to Authority Figures and they rely on them for their opinons and recommendations. Examples include pilots, ship captains, doctors, lawyers, priests, rabbis, just to name a few.
The fastest way to position yourself as an "authority" is to begin sharing your expertise in writing. Of course it helps if you know a little bit about your specialty. This brings me to today's message.
You know a lot more than you give yourself credit for. It is your duty (responsibility) to share this information with others to help enhance their travel experiences.
Get started this week.
"Ah, the blank slate. So pretty. So blank. You can change all that and more... all it takes is one word.”
Think about writing that first word this week. It does not have to be a thing of beauty. Just start ... with a single word. You can then add to it and edit it to make it worth sharing.
People have a tendency to doubt the spoken word, yet they have a tendency to believe the written word. The ball is in your court.
