SURGERE® NAMES MICHAEL SILVIO AND DAVID HAMPTON TO NEW ROLESTuesday, August 21, 2018
Surgere® – the industry leader in providing digitized visibility and control in the automotive supply chain – has announced the appointment of two company executives to new Vice President roles.
Michael Silvio, formerly Vice President – Logistics at Surgere, has been named Vice President – Operations Innovation. David Hampton, formerly Vice President – Global Operations, has been named Vice President – Client Optimization.
The supply chain veterans will fill complementary roles in their new positions that correlate to the sequence of onboarding new clients, then optimizing their experience and efficiency as they grow and expand.
A Detroit native, Silvio has 29 years of global supply chain experience, the last 17 in the global Tier I automaker supply chain. He has been an adjunct faculty member at the Mike Ilitch School of Business, Global Supply Chain Department, at Wayne State University in Detroit since 2003.
In his new role, Silvio will work with new customers to deploy Surgere products’ hardware and software and ensure its smooth implementation. “Great ideas often come from the warehouse floor and local material departments,” Silvio said. “For this and many other reasons, it’s important for us to be close to the customer’s needs and get their ideas for process improvement.”
Hampton’s 40-year global supply chain career spans six continents and leadership of multinational teams with up to 1,500 team members. In his new Client Optimization role, he will ensure customers are optimizing and leveraging Surgere’s technology on a longer term basis to best help their businesses. “We stay close to the customer to leverage industry best practices and to ensure our technology evolves and grows as they do.”
Hampton has his Master of Business Administration in International Finance from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree for Communication and Media Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The announcement comes as new automotive suppliers migrate to the AutoSphereTM, Surgere’s digital supply chain platform now uniting five major automakers and a growing number of their suppliers. “We are thrilled that Mike and David will be leading this effort for seamless integration of our systems into our clients’ daily operations,” Surgere CEO William Wappler said. “Every day we’re adding new customers into our ecosystem, and this is the right move to make at this time in our company’s rapid growth.”View all Industry News
