Shoppa's Material Handling appoints new chief human resources officer

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Shoppa’s Material Handling, a Texas-based distributor throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, North Texas and Kansas City, Missouri, announced today that Stephanie Grant has joined the company as Chief Human Resources Officer to lead and advance the human resources department at the growing Toyota forklift dealership.

“We are pleased to welcome Stephanie Grant to our talented and seasoned executive
team,” said Jim Shoppa, President, Shoppa’s Material Handling. “Stephanie brings
a great wealth of human resources experience in high-growth, high-performance
organizations that will enable us to attract, develop and retain top material handling
talent,” he added.

Grant brings with her an extensive background both in human resources and material
handling from Abel Womack, Inc., where she served as Human Resources Director
for 12 years and Development and Training Specialist at Malin Integrated Handling
Solutions & Design for four years.

“People are our most valuable asset to improving the customer experience. We will be
leaving behind rigid thinking and incorporating training and associate empowerment
to meet the needs of our customers. People do business with people – the more we
understand that, the more human the workplace can become,” stated Grant.

With a workforce that has doubled in the past few years to nearly 500 employees
and offices across North Texas and Kansas City, recruiting, talent management and
employee engagement has become a key factor for Shoppa’s Material Handling.
Stephanie is a top-level passionate, deliberate and discerning HR professional with the
experience to help Shoppa’s continue its growth and achieve its business goals.
