FlexpipeFlexpipe is Opening a New Office and Plant in Toronto: Flexpipe is opening a new office and plant in Toronto (Ontario). This new location of 4000 square feet will be an assembly plant and distribution center. The office will also offer designing and 3D cad services for the tube and joint modular system. Located in North York, 5000 Dufferin Unit #O, M3H 5T5, Flexpipe Toronto will accommodate Ontario manufacturers with Lean Manufacturing projects. The Rental Show Exhibit Space Sells Out For Second Consecutive Year: For the second straight year, exhibit space has sold out for The Rental Show. In 2014, the trade show will have a greater number of exhibitors, a larger show floor and an increased number of first-time exhibitors. There will be more than 675 exhibitors in Orlando, Fla., next February at The Rental Show, which is an increase of 10 percent over 2013. Of the 2014 exhibitors, more than 80 will be brand-new to the Show. The first-time exhibitors cover all three trade show departments — construction/ industrial, general tool/homeowner and party/special event. Read full article

Kane Is Able Names Logistics Industry Veteran Greg Wells as Senior Director of Operations: Third-party logistics provider Kane Is Able, Inc. has named Greg Wells as the new Senior Director of Operations with responsibility for Kimberly Clark distribution centers across the United States. He reports to Mike Marlowe, KANE’s Senior Vice President of Operations. Wells joins KANE with nearly 20 years experience in third party logistics (3PL) operations leadership. He recently served as director of operations for Ryder Supply Chain Solutions with responsibility for multiple consumer packaged goods (CPG) big box distribution operations and contract packaging operations. Michael’s “Believe It or Not”:  Recently I was reminded of an event I will never forget. It all started one afternoon when a customer with a pick-up truck backed into our receiving dock. In his truck was a Tennant 5700 Scrubber. This machine was being returned from a rental customer. I was immediately advised that this machine was back, however, something was wrong with it and I needed to look at it. I went immediately to check this machine out and the driver said “here is your scrubber; my company wanted me to bring back so we didn’t have to pay to have it picked-up.” One look is all it took. I said “OMG, what in the heck happened to it?”To describe it now is laughable but at that time is was very upsetting. Read full article
