Associated and Peach State announce merger to create one of the largest Supply Chain Solution Companies in North America: Associated and Peach State Integrated Technologies Inc., both leaders in providing integrated supply chain solutions, announced today that they have reached a definitive agreement for Associated to acquire Peach State. Under the agreement, Peach State will operate as a subsidiary of Associated. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2014. Peach State, founded in 1975 and headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a leader in providing supply chain consulting, engineering, and automated material handling solutions that enable retailers, distributors, and manufacturers to get their products to market quickly, efficiently and profitably. Baoli Expands Its Portfolio To Warehouse Equipment: Baoli Material Handling Europe launches its first warehouse trucks to the European market offering these models in addition to its forklift trucks from 1 to 10 tons load capacity. The electric pallet truck Baoli EP20 with 2 tons capacity as well as the stacker truck Baoli ES15 with 1,5 ton capacity are now available for Baoli distributors across Europe. For reliable transporting and storage in warehouses both trucks are equipped with AC motors and controllers, which ensure efficient operation as well as low cost maintenance. For practical manoeuvrability even in narrow aisles, the German-made tiller is placed in the middle of the compact chassis of Baoli EP20 and Baoli ES15. Shuttlelift Targets Energy Industry With Its Rubber-Tired, Mobile Gantry Cranes: Shuttlelift, a longtime Wisconsin-based manufacturer of rubber-tired, mobile gantry cranes, has been steadily making inroads with the energy industry. According to Kurt Minten, Shuttlelift’s director of industrial sales, operations managers are quickly learning that these cranes are ideally suited to the tasks at hand. Traditionally, companies in the energy market have used conventional lifting methods such as boom cranes, reach stackers and forklifts. According to Minten, all of these methods have two major drawbacks: stability concerns, and the ability of the operator to understand a load chart. Stability accidents can be serious for the operator, and it can be costly to repair equipment and replace a damaged load. Read full article
