UniCarriers Americas Announces Ben Schulte, J.D., as New General Counsel: UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) announces Ben Schulte, J.D., as general counsel for the company. Schulte will be responsible for all corporate governance and compliance functions, for providing legal review in support of all company departments, and for supervising outside counsel and corporate risk management. Schulte brings more than 20 years of experience to the executive team. Prior to joining UCA, he held the positions of manager of distribution development at GVW Group, senior attorney at Navistar and general counsel at Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks of America. Oorja Closes Series E Funding for Global Expansion in Multi-Billion Fuel Cell Market: Oorja, the world leader in liquid fuel cell technology, announced the close of a Series E investment round. New investor Mingxin China Growth Fund joined previous backers including DAG Ventures in the oversubscribed round. Troy Container Line Announces New Partnership With Basic Warehousing & Distribution, Inc.: Troy Container Line, one the world’s largest American-owned NVOCCs, announced a new partnership with Chicago-based Basic Warehousing & Distribution, Inc. As of Monday, February 17, CFS services for export and FCL transportation will go through Basic Warehousing’s Elk Grove Village location. The new CFS is centrally located outside of Chicago and adjacent to O’Hare International Airport with access to several major highways, easily connecting the warehouse to a global supply chain. Elite Supply Chain Solutions Joins MH Logistics: Scott Hennie, President of Elite Supply Chain Solutions, has announced that as of February 1, 2014 the company will be joining MH Logistics. MH Logistics is headquartered in Peoria, Illinois and includes material handling solutions provider MH Equipment and construction equipment solutions provider MH JCB amongst its family of companies. Elite Supply Chain Solutions will continue to operate as such. Elite Supply Chain Solutions began in January 2013 with a goal to become a strategic partner with customers in order to assist them with their overall business strategy and implement materials handling solutions that will help them further that strategy. It’s Not the Answer… It’s How You Give It : We’ve all undoubtedly had to give bad news. Regardless of who that bad news was to, whether a customer, employee, or partner, the effect of that news or answer isn’t so much in the answer itself but how it is presented. In selling, it’s much more important to frame the answer. Framing the answer is not avoiding giving an answer, rather it explains why it has to be that way and limits the potential confrontation. No! This is probably one of the most difficult and confrontational answers you’ll have to give. Think about anytime you’ve had to tell someone no in regards to your business. “No, that’s not warrantable”, “No, we can’t do it that way”, or “No, you can’t have that”. Read full article
